Certificate templates: a selection of designs you make your own

Nobody enjoys designing a certificate on a blank page. This gallery shows a selection of templates from the editor, with an example event and example name. Pick the style that suits your occasion, then swap logo, colors and text for your own.

Formal and festive: for certificates that carry weight

When the certificate is meant to honor something, it may look the part. These templates work with classic means: double gold frames, serif type, seals, dark stages for gala occasions. The diploma layout with a guilloché border is the most formal step, while the crest and ornament variants sit between the registry office and the gala evening.

Clean and modern: for conferences and business formats

The second group skips the gold and relies on flat color, typography and white space. Layouts like these suit tech conferences, product events and anything where the certificate is more a record than an award. The dossier and two-column variants bring a side column or a clear column order, and the large-type layout lets the letters themselves be the design.

Bold and dark: for events with a stage of their own

The third group dares to use color. Dark templates like Terminal or Angle give tech and gaming formats a fitting look, block color and mosaic light up trade fairs and creative events, and the ticket layout winks at the entry wristband. A header band and a footer band lay down a continuous bar of color where your logo sits well.

Every template is only the starting point

What you see in the gallery are starting states. In the editor everything stays movable after that: colors come from ready-made palettes or from your brand, the seals come from a library of their own, frames can be swapped or left off, and every piece of text on the document is a freely editable field. Only one field is special: the recipient name stays fillable, so that later all attendees collect their certificate themselves, with their own name in the right place.

If you already designed a badge for the event, you do not have to start from scratch: the certificate can take colors and accent straight from the badge, so the announcement and the proof come from one piece. What content belongs on the document, from the event name to the signature, is in the guide to wording and required details.

Three formats: A4 landscape, A4 portrait and square

Every template comes in three formats and is laid out separately for each one, so nothing looks squashed. A4 landscape is the classic for the wall and the application folder, A4 portrait feels more document-like and carries long titles better, and the square format is made for sharing: it stands out large in the LinkedIn feed when attendees post their certificate.

And after designing?

The finished certificate leaves the editor in three forms: as a print-ready A4 PDF, as an image for posting and as a hosted proof link that attendees enter on LinkedIn under Licenses & certifications. It is handed out without an attendee list, through a link you send to everyone after the event. The full flow from design to the LinkedIn entry is described on the page Create an attendance certificate.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use the templates?
Yes. To create and design certificates you need a free organizer account. Your attendees need none: they open the redemption link later, enter their name and download their certificate.
Can I download the templates as a Word file?
No. Word templates shift with every name of a different length. Here the design stays fixed, and you get an A4 PDF to print, an image to post and a proof link for the LinkedIn profile. Anyone who still wants the Word route will find the instructions in the mail-merge guide.
Can logo, colors and text be adjusted?
Yes, all of it. Upload your logo, take colors from palettes or your brand, and every piece of text on the document is an editable field, from the title through the confirmation line to the signature. The template only sets the starting point.
How does the name get onto the certificate?
The name stays open as a fillable field. After the event you share a link, each person enters their own name and downloads their finished certificate. That way you need no attendee list, and nobody ends up on the document with a typo.
